In today's digital world, unlocking a secured area should be as fast and easy as unlocking your phone. Yet, many organizations still rely on high-friction physical processes, badges are forgotten, keys are lost, and manual verification creates unnecessary administrative overhead and user frustration.

Physical access control, entering an office, factory, or hotel room, is about to change. For too long, organizations have been forced to choose between fast, efficient entry and robust, compliant identity verification. Now, thanks to a new collaboration between ZKTeco and Impierce Technologies, you don't have to choose.

We’re excited to announce our partnership with ZKTeco Europe and the integration of our digital identity software with their ZPAD PLUS 4G terminal. This merges physical access with the privacy-first world of European Digital Identity (EUDI) wallets and enables autonomous, attribute-based physical access across industries and borders.

Traditional badges are essentially a number on a chip. If you have the card, you’re "in." This creates a security gap as the system trusts the plastic, not the person. By moving to the EUDI Wallet, we are shifting to Attribute-Based Access Control.

Instead of showing a card, your wallet presents a Verifiable Credential that confirms your clearance level without ever needing to reveal unnecessary private data to e.g. a gate or door itself.

• An organization issues a digital credential to a user's wallet like UniMe. This credential contains specific claims, such as Active Employee Status or Certified Safety Training.

• When a user scans the QR code on the ZPAD terminal, the hardware requests specific proof.

• The user consents to share only the required attribute(s). The terminal doesn't need your full profile, it only needs to verify the cryptographic signature of the issuer.

• The terminal checks the signature and revocation status in real-time. If everything aligns, the door unlocks.

This helps solving long-standing bottlenecks:

• Need to give a contractor access for exactly four hours? You can issue a credential that self-destructs the moment they leave. No more unreturned visitor cards.

• If an employee leaves the company, revoking their digital identity removes their access across every integrated terminal, instantly.

• The terminal doesn't need to store a local database of employee names or photos. identity verification and access becomes privacy preserving.
